Time for Prayer

prayer of hands upraised

Prayer of the Month: September 2021

You are holy, Lord, the only God, and Your deeds are wonderful.

You are strong. You are great. You are the Most High. You are Almighty.

You, Holy Father are King of heaven and earth.

You are Three and One, Lord God, all Good.

You are Good, all Good, supreme Good,

Lord God, living and true. You are love. You are wisdom.

You are humility. You are endurance. You are rest. You are peace.

You are joy and gladness. You are justice and moderation.

You are all our riches, and You suffice for us.

You are beauty. You are gentleness.

You are our protector. You are our guardian and defender.

You are our courage. You are our haven and our hope.

You are our faith, our great consolation.

You are our eternal life, Great and Wonderful Lord,

God Almighty, Merciful Saviour.

Prayer of the Month: January 2020

Disturb us, Lord, when we are too well pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true because we have dreamed too little.
When we arrive safely because we sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when with the abundance of things we posses we have lost our thirst for the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with this life, we have ceased to dream of eternity.
And in our efforts to build a new earth, we have allowed our vision of the new Heaven to dim.
Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly, to venture on wider seas
Where storms will show your mastery; where losing sight of land,
We shall find the stars.
We ask you to push back the horizons of our hopes; and to push us into the future in strength, courage,
hope and love.

Prayer of the Month: December 2020

Dear Heavenly Father,
Help me to hear your voice.
Touch me once again.
Give me the courage to be your beloved.
Give me courage to choose joy.

I need you now this Christmas.
Be born in me again. Today.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
~Bonnie Gray, from “Why it Takes Courage to Choose Joy

Prayer of the Month: November 2020

My heart is not proud, Lord,
My eyes are not haughty;
I do not concern myself with great matters
Or things too wonderful for me.
But I have calmed and quieted myself,
I am like a weaned child with its mother;
Like a weaned child I am content.

Put your hope in the Lord
Both now and forevermore.

In the name of Jesus, I choose to trust you, my Abba.

Amen.

(From Psalm 131)
